JLARC Recommendations
JLARC produces recommendations based on our research, to improve or amend various state policy or program functions to help them function better. JLARC tracks the implementation of these recommendations over a rolling 4 year period.

Recommendations browser
This page hosts two interactive dashboards which provide detailed information on current recommendations.
One contains all recommendations, the other focuses on unimplemented recommendations.
Process for updating the status of JLARC recommendations:
JLARC reports on whether its recommendations to the General Assembly and state agencies have been implemented. Recommendations are categorized as either fully implemented, partially implemented, or not implemented. JLARC staff track and report on the implementation status of recommendations over a four-year rolling period. For example, in 2025 JLARC would report on the recommendations that were made in reports issued between 2021 and 2024.
JLARC staff use a two-part process to update the status of recommendations:
- During the General Assembly session, staff track legislation and budget provisions and amendments that would implement JLARC recommendations and confirm whether they have been enacted after the reconvened session in April.
- Each fall, JLARC staff request state agencies to update the status of their recommendations and whether any recommendations have been implemented over the past year.
JLARC provides the implementation status of recommendations on its website, with updates occurring about once a year. Every two years, JLARC also issues JLARC Impacts: Actions Taken on Report Recommendations, which includes commentary on the implementation of recommendations that were made to both the General Assembly and state agencies.
